Resisting Recession
How to Build and Preserve Your Real Estate Investments Regardless of Market Conditions
Overview
Investing is incredibly unique for everyone. There’s no one way and nothing is cookie cutter. The period in your life, having different resources, differing levels of sophistication knowledge and levels of sacrifice, or different financial expectations and goals. A keen awareness of your personal financial needs help to dictate your business options.
So, it goes without saying, your specific plan can vary drastically from someone else’s; even using long-term principles. As a long-term real estate investor, I advocate for safe, stable, smart investments first as opposed to the trend of flashy returns. If you really want to create your profitable plan for long-term investing, you need to define your unique profile. If you want it to be sustainable, know your short-term needs. Your profile is a combination of components, both personal and financial. Here is a sample set of questions we use for our clients that help us figure out their strategy and plan:
· How stable and/or profitable is your current career?
· How much income do you require annually?
· How much capital do you have and how leveraged are you?
· What will be your short- and long-term income needs?
· Are you diversified in your current investments?
· Do you have children and if so, are they independent, going to college, or have careers?
· Do you plan on having more children?
· What are your contingency financial plans over the next 20 years?
· What retirement plans do you have?
· What other major life plans do you have set out for your future?
· How involved do you want to be with your investments?
If you want a more comprehensive list email us or go to www.Signetinvestments.com/consulting and click on “what’s your profile” for a profile test.
Do you want to know how you can build a powerhouse real estate portfolio that can withstand recessions? Keep reading.
With the advent of crowdfunding being almost a quarter of real estate private equity today, many new investors have entered the real estate world without certain wisdom and lessons that have been exchanged in private “country club” conversations. On top of that, with recurring signs of recession burning at the core of the economy, far too many individuals are positioned to lose their life savings.
Author Eduardo Sigal outlines forgotten, deeply rooted “how to’s” in building and protecting your real estate investments. Growing up in a family business of real estate investing, Eduardo is now stepping up to provide readers with a different—and much needed—perspective. As his foundation is deeply rooted in the success of a variety of investing professionals, he can see what’s at stake for people who have positioned themselves in a way that leaves them vulnerable to the inevitable unknowns of the market.

About the Author
Eduardo “Boots” Sigal was adopted from the jungle of Costa Rica. From the early age of 11, Sigal was included by his father, a successful real estate professional, in meetings with his longtime partners as well as tours of commercial properties. These people remain some of the most successful professionals in real estate, making those experiences invaluable.
Over the decades, Sigal grew his own professional relationships and investment portfolio. He also earned his Entrepreneurship MBA at Pepperdine, joined ICSC, and founded his consulting and investing company, Signet Investments, as well as affiliated companies.
While Sigal is more of a listener than a talker, his curiosity led him to conduct a series of interviews and, eventually, to create The Signet Podcast. There, he dives deep into how fellow long-term investors approach investing, expanding these discussions to insights and investment walk-throughs. Writing this book has been an opportunity for Sigal to express the deepest, most valuable lessons that he has learned for achieving success in real estate.
